Principals Address

Dear parents and students,

Killarney Community College is a secondary School, under the governing body of Kerry Education Service (County Kerry Vocational Education Committee) which is co-educational and multi-belief.

This website serves to explain to students and their parents the day to day functioning and management of our school and the vast array of facilities and activities that are on offer.

It is difficult to sum up here the warm atmosphere and great pupil/ teacher relationship but we endeavour to give you a taste of life within the college from this website.

Our aim in the college is to create a school where each person is respected, valued and supported.

The college has a caring and committed staff and while placing emphasis on the academic tradition of our school, we are extremely conscious of providing a holistic education for students. Our committed teachers place a high value on teaching and learning which was highly commended in a recent Department inspection. We aim for the highest grades in the Junior and Leaving certificate exams.

We endeavour to work in partnership with all members of the school community: students, teachers, parents and Board of Management. Together the college community developed a mission statement. This acts as a constant reminder that keeps every one focussed on the important principles under which the college operates.

Excellence in Learning for Life through Respect, Responsibility and Inclusion.

We hope you enjoy our College experience.

Mise le meas,

Fiona O’Brien
Principal
